I put the podfic version of your story in for doing the dishes and it was so sweet and lovely that I just kept going, cleaned the kitchen, too, and even finished the laundry :)
Seriously, this is a very sweet story, and I love that you gave it a slower pace and good supporting characters. To me, the people around the main characters are really important to make a story believable and I loved the Rosenbaums especially. Also, it was set in Seattle, the city of Dark Angel AND Grey's Anatomy - fabulous.
I liked all the small, homey scenes, which really gave you a sense of the characters and the way they relate to each other, like Jensen feeding Jared soup, the small boys hiding under the table and the big boys joining in and the scene in the supermarket with Jonah.
Bonus points for Jonah, btw. I'm not adverse to kidfic, but sometimes authors overdo it with the "wise beyond their years" kids and the children wind up not seeming real, but Jonah was a totally believable, lovable kid. Congratulations.
I loved that, in the end, Jensen made up his mind to really go for it and for once do ask for what he wanted - and I loved it even more that Jared (with the help of Mike) had made the right decision even before that.
This is a real feel-good fic, warm fuzzies and happy sighs all around.
