Oddly this doesn't seem like RPS at all. I mean I know it is, but you make it such a lovely story there's none of the squickiness I often get with other people's RPS. I'm glad I took a chance and read it.

Brava, Audra! :-)

But then, you never fail to delight your readers...

aw, hon, thanks! :D I appreciate you giving it a shot. so glad you liked!

(and you know, some rps bothers me, too, but for some reason the two J's ... don't seem like real people to me. heh. Besides, this is probably completely ooc, anyway. But it was fun! *hugs*)

I think the squicky RPS is the kind that feels too real, you know? That actually reads like they expect the real people to do this stuff.

The decent RPS just kind of pretends that people like J2 are characters just as much as Sam and Dean and as such are ficable. You suspend your disbelief and just enjoy two hot people enjoying each other, like you would for slash or cestfic.

/shrug/

Yeah, I overthink everything. What else is new? /grins/

I think you're right. An author I absolutely love wrote rps where one of the character's RL marriage was breaking up because his wife was cheating on him. As much as I love the author, I couldn't read the story, b/c all I could think about was, this is this man's life, his family -- and this is almost hurtful. Just... no. Too personal, maybe.

The rps I've loved could almost be original fic -- with the actors cast as the boys in the story. I especially love rps AUs. heee!

ah, well. We both overthink, maybe. :D

Yeah, that's a good example. References to kids just make it so much worse. RPS AUs? Now that sounds like it might be interesting. LOL!

ah, well. We both overthink, maybe. :D
