Imagine my surprise when I am reading the first part of this story and there is a mention of Babes With Blades, the theater company I founded 11 years ago! We are, in fact, still going strong, and you must come see our fall production at the Viaduct. It will be fantastic.

One note, however - we spell our name with a capital "W" in With. If it's not too much trouble, could you make that correction?

Can't wait to read the rest!

!!!!!

DUDE. Okay, ten years ago? I took tae kwan do in Westmont,IL with a woman whose theater company had just started this show Babes With Blades (!!!), and she told me that they made enough money with this one show that they could then do whatever they wanted for the rest of the year. I never forgot it, obviously. *g* Then later, after I moved, I saw her on Wild Chicago. I can't remember her name b/c I am LAME, but she had dark hair and a son who was five at the time. Does any of this sound familiar??

(oh, and absolutely I'll change to a cap W! I'll put the website in my ending notes, too, unless you'd rather I didn't. And thank you so much for not asking me to change it -- I'd have to go with Girls With Guns or something, and that's not nearly as sexy. *bg*)

oh, and regardless of whether or not we are long lost sparring partners, I'm chicago-local again, and I will definitely come to your show in the fall. :D

Awesome! Let me know when, so I can meet you in the lobby afterwards. Or - are you going to Winchest Midwest this weekend? Maybe I will meet you there?

I'm not going to the con, unfortunately -- but I hope you guys have fun! *bg* I'll definitely let you know when I go to the show. I'm really looking forward to it!

(and Jean! It was definitely Jean -- we took instruction together for almost a year. I'm glad to hear she's doing well.)

Thanks again for letting me keep the Babes reference, and I appreciate the rec, too. :D *hugs*

No worries! If you go to the BWB webpage, you can sign up to receive our monthly "Broadsheet" (get it? hee hee!) and that will have all the info on upcoming productions and other nefarious activities.

Thanks!
-Sam

I'm guessing Jean Adamak Gottlieb? Or perhaps Leigh Ann Wilson? Those were the two dark-haired suburban gals with sons that I think were with us at the time. And yes, our first run of BWB was a cash cow, bless the stars. Babes With Blades left Footsteps when I resigned from the Company (in 1998) and became its own entity, and we now have a two-show season and are still going strong, 11 years later. Jean now has her own theater company out in the suburbs, New Repertory Theater, which has also been going strong for several years now.

I would LOVE it if you could link to our website (www.babeswithblades.ORG) in your endnotes - it's great publicity!

Now I have to go rec your fic to all my friends of Babes who read slash. :)

Thanks again,
Sam

Okay, so it's kind of bad that this has been in my inbox for a while now without me reading it, but so goes my life. *shrug*

I can't even BEGIN to tell you how much I loved this fic! I was exhausted and had every intention of going straight to bed when I got under the covers at midnight, but two-and-a-half hours later, I've read the entire piece and downloaded the soundtrack and ogled the beautiful, beautiful art. I loved that everybody was basically a hippie, and just cool. I loved that Jensen, while very much broken and angsty (just the way I like him!), was not ultimately ENTIRELY controlled by his fears and traumas. He managed to make the first steps towards recovery and acceptance, largely by himself (with some damn good motivation...SEX!). And I loved that they were both ARTSY and SMART! It makes me SO HAPPY, and gives me hope for my future prospects!

So, all in all, THANK YOU! I will rec this to anyone I can find!

Loved this story. It was really great. The way how Jensen finally managed to overcome his agorophobia was very believable. *hugs* Thank you for giving me some hours of very pleasant reading.

Hi. After an extended drought of good Gen SPN fiction and a post by Janissa11, I did something I never thought I would - I decided to try J2 AU fiction. Well, this was the first story I read and I am so happy I did. I am now on a quest to find all the J2 AU out there. I really loved this story. Thank you for writing it.

Janissa's post was so interesting -- thanks for mentioning it! And hon, I have no idea how you found my story first, but there are a ZILLION fabulous j2 AUs out there. You're going to have so much fun! (start with [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang, heh.)

And thank you so much for your lovely comment. I'm glad you enjoyed. :D

That was so satisfying. It had just the right mix of humor, pain, romance and tenderness. I just finished and that last quote made me tear up and feel ridiculously happy at the same time. I only wish it had been twice as long so I could read more of it. ^_^
