The Sweet Charity auction started today! They're raising money for Invisible Children, so you might want to go over and see what's available. (spoiler -- many awesome things! I've already bid twice.)
I'm offering a short slash story of at least 3000 words, officially either Sam/Dean, j2, or bandom (mcr, patd), but honestly, I'd be willing to take a shot at any fandom I've written in before. No het, non-con, hardcore kink or death fic, though. And hey, the more AU the prompt, the better. :D
This is the auction page.
So. Last night G and I are watching the Bears game in our bedroom, and Kid 2 wanders down all sleepy and cute and awake so we bundle her up and put her on the bed with us to watch the half-time report. And the big story is that Springsteen is going to do the half-time show at the Super Bowl, and there's a whole montage of recent Bruce tossing himself into the crowd and Van Zandt wearing his do-rag and playing his guitar and they're all being rock-star-like and singing 'born to run' and I'm thinking, "Yes. Bruce, you still have it. You are still cool."
And then, from the pile of pillows and blankets next to me, a voice sighs, dripping with all the world-weary ennui a seven-year-old can muster, and says, "Old people singing a song."
THANK YOU, sweet-pea, for that reminder of my mortality. I think G and I were hysterical for ten minutes.
Enjoy your Monday. :D
