I left a comment to a rec that [livejournal.com profile] wendy made of this fic but I guess it should rather be made to you so here it is:

And yes to "So Close to My Heart". Jared's dedication and the the feeling that he saved all there was in the life of the parents by giving their child one more day makes me cry every single time I read (or hear) it. Which is quite a lot actually :)
